Concerto Grotto | Private Tour

Concerto Grotto Klæmintsgjógv World's Largest Sea Cave Trumpet Player Faroe Islands

Experience the world’s largest sea cave — and a concert like no other — in complete privacy, with your own RIB boat and dedicated guide.

With pick-up in Tórshavn, we head to Gamlarætt ferry port, where your private RIB-boat captain will be ready. From there, we cruise along the stunning west coast of Hestur island — a stretch of coastline known for its towering cliffs, seabird colonies, and dramatic views over the Atlantic Ocean.

The Sea Cliffs of Hestur Island

Our first stop is the island’s massive bird cliffs, where thousands of seabirds nest and soar above the waves. There’s plenty of time to take in the breathtaking scenery before continuing to Klæmintsgjógv — a vast sea grotto shaped by volcanic forces over millions of years. In 2024, it was officially recognised as the largest sea cave in the world, measuring an astonishing 278,000 cubic meters.

Inside the cave, the mood shifts. Darkness and silence envelop the boat — until a solo performance begins. A trumpet or saxophone, performed live, fills the space with soaring, echoing sound. With up to 12 seconds of natural echo, the cave offers a dreamlike acoustic experience unlike anything else. The musicians are specially trained to perform in this environment and deliver unforgettable, resonant concerts.

This is an intimate and exclusive moment of sound, sea, and stone — ideal for couples, families, small groups, or special occasions.
