Wonders of Vágar Island

Wonders of Vágar Island

Trælanípan (Slave cliff) and Gásadalur are some of the most scenic places in the Faroe Islands and should be on any visitor’s to-do list. Hiking Trælanípan you will observe Sørvagsvatn, also known as the ‘the hovering lake’ due to its optical illusion when standing on the edge of the perpendicular cliff wall 142 meters above water, overseeing the lake above the ocean. Next step is to visit the fantasy tale of Gásadalur, home to one of the most surreal waterfalls, Múlafossur, which is certain to provide one of the most majestic views in the Faroe Islands.

We departure from Tórshavn at 9h00 and drive to Miðvágur , where the hike to Trælanípan begins. During the hike we pass Sørvágsvatn to arrive at the destination of Trælanípan and enjoy the spectacular panoramic view of the cliffs, the hovering lake, and the waterfall Bøssdalafossur.

Upon completion of the Trælanípan hike we drive to the small village of Gásadalur to observe the captivating scenery of the Múlafossur waterfall and its striking surroundings. On the way back to Tórshavn we stop at Fiskastykki, a cosy local café in Sandavágur, for lunch. The tour ends in Tórshavn at the approximate time of 17h00.
